Climbing Kilimanjaro can be a truly unforgettable experience and it can leave climbers with a lasting sense of accomplishment. Kilimanjaro is a mountain of three cones making up a volcano in Tanzania and, needless to say, anybody ascending it must have a head for heights. While two of the three cones are extinct, the third called Kibo is still thought to be dormant. The overall height of the mountain is 5, 895 metres above sea level making it the highest freestanding mountain in the world. This alone can make it attractive to mountaineers, but it is important to remember that Tanzania is so much more than just Kilimanjaro.
